Cool contest from Sennheiser!

Earn $50K for 8 seconds of music! Design Sennheiser's "sound logo" - think NBC's chimes or Brian Eno's bootup sound on Windows 95.

I might have to take a crack at this (more lucrative than the RPM project!).

Interesting. Definitely putting my $.02 in on that. I'd love to see a TapeOpper win this!

Short attention span compositions should be easy to create.

In order to fill the entire 8 seconds, it could be the snapping mic clip, followed by the inevitable lunging for the plummeting mic (w/ grumbling and cymbol clatter), and ending with a thud as the mic hits the floor. Time to put your Foley skills to the test, Smitty!

that's why i buy all my 421's used and abused, with the mic clip/clip slot already demolished, so i can quit the charade and just use a universal shockmount.

I'm gonna try this for sure. The hard part will be making it hi-fi yet also very distinct in tone. I'm sure that the 4-track cassette themes aren't gonna win here.
