Analog guys in Ohio??**Make that Minneapolis**

Post by cjmnash » Sat Jan 03, 2009 12:17 pm

hey guys-

not sure where to stick this- so it's in hookups unless i'm told otherwise :)

i'm booked in cleveland [Now Minneapolis] the 3rd week of march and will be driving there from nashville- i thought i'd check to see if anyone in Minneapolis or the surrounding area would want me to swing in and totally rock out your analog deck either on my way up or back from cleveland.

i have both 15 ips and 30 ips test tapes, and can also do head adjustments (azimuth & wrap) prior to a top-to-bottom balls on alignment to ensure your deck is living up to it's full potential. if you happen to have an MCI, i can also do tensions and a few other tweaks specific to MCI and will also have some parts with me for basic repairs to MCI's as well.

i've been heavily into analog decks for about 10 years, and have restored dozens, including the ones i own at my joint "welcome to 1979" ( www.welcometo1979.com )
hit me up with any questions and to discuss dates/rates.

rock out.

Just wanted to throw in my two cents. Chris recently (Dec. 15th) installed an MCI JH-528 console for me that was refurbished by Steve Sadler, and while here got my 2" JH-16 24 trk rocking. I'm fairly new to maintenance on my machine and didn't have the tools nor the hands on knowledge to do it properly. Turns out my headstack was off alignment pretty bad, and wasn't giving me much from 10K on...Chris got that sussed out as well as aligned the electronics dead on, and now it's a pleasure to use(and I don't have to make excuses why the masters are somewhat noisy...).
Anyhow, if you have a tape deck in need of a look over, I highly recommend Chris' service. And no, I get no kickback for kind words...haha.

I'm having Chris tweak out my machine in March. He stopped by the studio in route to Nashville on New Years Eve. He's a totally great guy to hang out with as well!!!
