RICHMOND VA TapeOp folks? beer night or some such nonsense?

Regional activities, relevant news, job openings, studio searches, local beer nights (not a forum to plug the new album you just worked on)

thanks to everyone who showed up saturday, great time as usual, and nice to welcome new folks aboard.

don't know when the next one will be. they kind of happen roughly once a month. but i sure would encourage everyone visiting the thread to start coming up with suggestions as to when and where the next one will be...

cheers

OH LORD I am so sorry I missed this. Chalk this up to a bad busy week! I'm definitely down for the next one and Alan -- no worries on those mics. Did you use them last night at Ipanema?

I'd love to get a final count and order in for those of us willing to partake of the little compressor dealy. I'm still game. Might be worthwhile to start a new thread though?

Dave glad things are winding down a bit for you. Really enjoying those CDs!!

Erik (remembering to hit "Notify me when a reply is posted" -- finally!)

Hey guys, I'm down in Williamsburg, but I'd like to toss my name into the hat too. Please keep me in the loop for future events. A Williamsburg audio gathering has just recently been started by T. Judge at CW. The website is: http://soundnerds.com/

Cheers.

PS. If any of you are interested in a microphone shoot-out this Friday evening in Williamsburg on organ, send me an email.

Norsehorse,

I haven't been to williamsburg in a long time. I used to service the organ at Bruton Parish! At the time i was very interested in Pipe Organ recording, but it was sort of fruitless. The church will spend a million dollars on an organ, but will use their house staff to record it! baffling!

Anyways, welcome! Keep an eye on this thread for when and where. It's been a bit spontaneous lately.

Erik!

I have your gear in my car, eagerly waiting to be delivered! WTF! i suck.

What are your plans for Monday evening? If you are free i thought i could bring your mikes and perhaps etch a few boards and get this project rolling. We can build up a couple prototypes...

Anyways, i'll take this off board.

cheers,

Allen

Hahaha, yes, sometimes budgets seem out-of-proportion!

I've been here a few years, and I haven't run across any Bruton Parish organ CDs. The ones they made might have never seen the light of day? I did just run across an Organ Historical Society DVD listing (http://www.ohscatalog.org/musvistowilv.html) that has the organ on it, but I doubt the church staff made it. The Bruton Parish organists are currently considering making one before the end of the year! We'll see how it goes.

Upcoming organ events in the area:

http://hitthestops.org/ - Tidewater AGO Convention July 5-8

http://williamsburgfestival.com/ - Handel Festival in Williamsburg in Nov. and Dec.

the free show at the camel is tonight. i'll be playing sometime after 8.

dulcitar madness, sound reactive projections, and all around electro acoustic goodness.

stop by if you like and have a drink with me.

I've got another show lined up this weekend. i'll be opening for Jackass Flats at the Camel this friday the 10th, i should be going on around 9.

this is going to to be an insanely fun show, tickets are seven dollars at the door and i will of course be there early so if anyone wants to use it as an excuse to drink beer and talk music/audio, i'm all bout it.

hope to see you there.

also, i'd still be up for throwing a meet together this saturday, anyone else?
