You're Invited: (Chicago) EARS meets Tues March 30th @ HINGE

Post by Traveler001 » Fri Mar 26, 2010 10:40 pm

Greetings and hello,

For those of you who live in or near Chicago...

You are invited to join us for what is sure to be a FUN-filled EARS event at the incredible new HINGE recording studio on Tuesday. March 30th. Craig Bauer, Reid Hyams, and staff offer you a warm welcome!

If you attended the meeting we had at Johnny K's Groovemaster Studios last June, you may have already seen this place when it was just an enormous concrete shell. Well, now it's all finished and ready to rock!

Our meeting will begin at the usual 7:30p.m., where we will have a first-hand look at this beautiful new facility and all its appointments.

Many heavyweight projects were made at the previous incarnation of HINGE on Ohio St, including records by Kanye West, Ludacris, Public Enemy, and Styx frontman Dennis DeYoung.

The NEW Hinge has already seen Los Lobos frontman David Hidalgo and Blues/Soul singer Susan Tedeschi in to record.

We will begin by meeting Craig Bauer, the man behind the studio and many of these projects, as well as studio manager, Reid Hyams, who also doubles as our very own EARS V.P. Then Craig and 2nd engineer Jeff Breaky will provide us with an up close and personal demonstration of the powerful ICON digital mixing console using an actual mix in progress. If you've ever wondered how to fly this hi-tech wonder board and don't have $100,000+ grand to buy your own to play with, here's your chance to see it in action.

Sure to be a great night of audio production, camaraderie, and fun!

Feel free to forward this invitation to those who might be interested in attending, and drop me an RSVP so we can keep a count of how many to expect.

In addition: EARS (Engineering And Recording Society of Chicago) has formed a new EARS Facebook Fan Page that is growing at an amazingly fast pace since its inception a few weeks ago. Presently, we?re over 500 members strong and expect to be well over a thousand by the end of April. This is an open forum group that allows members and non-members alike to network and interface in many areas including, but not limited to the music industry, the media arts, fines arts and academia. Presently, the EARS Page has attracted many award winning creative people of our industry including producers, engineers, mixers, artists, music industry execs, managers, label execs, photographers, publishers, Cyberpunk Cowboys, and, most importantly, musicians, as well as students?..and the list goes on and on.
