Canadian version of BMI or ASCAP

Post by rockstudio » Tue Aug 16, 2011 9:02 am

Hi, has anyone had any experience selecting from Canadian licensing and royalty collection agencies?
I have been checking out SOCAN, as one of our band members is Canadian, and he can't join BMI.
Is there another agency to check out?
Thank you.

Socan is it. You're Canadian band member can choose between ASCAP or BMI for his American royalty tracking. Just make sure he's represented by the same one as the Americans in the band.
