Hey everyone,
I've come to the realization that I just can't record my own band (I sit on the mixes forever), so we're looking for a great place to cut about 4 songs for an upcoming vinyl release. We're located in Philadelphia, but we're willing to travel if the studio can provide a free/cheap place for us to crash. We're a 3 piece (guitar bass drums, 1 lead singer, 1 backup) that plays rock/punk/indie/ whatever. Some of the things we're looking for in a studio:
= A GREAT drum room, ideally with a solid selection of drums/cymbals
= Some unique amps
= Cozy, comfortable
= Near some good food, good beer
Since we're looking to do 3-4 songs, We're probably looking at 2-3 full days. We're well rehearsed, comfortable playing to a click, and pretty cool dudes (if I do say so myself).
You can listen to some of our music here

If this all sounds like something you'd be in to, shoot me an email (jetsetsail@gmail.com) with some info about your studio, location, rates, etc. Thanks a lot y'all!

In Philly? Try Miner Street.
If you're in Philly I suggest you give Brian McTear a call at Miner Street Recordings.
We recorded half our new record there (then mixed it all there)...

Brian and the studio also produce the Weathervane Music Series:

If you watch those sessions you can hear the sounds recorded there and see the studio.
Located in NoLibs.
Highly recommended.

Harumph!
My studio has a few drum rooms. The biggest being the warehouse in the back. Sounds killer recording drums. Large very controllable sound.

Yeah, very cool songs and textures. I don't know Philly too well, but I hear there are a lot of great studios out there.
If you have any interest making your way to the NY Tri-State area, I know a ton of great residential studios out here. There's something really worthwhile for just about any budget.
If you're interested in getting out of Dodge for a weekend sometime, shoot me an email! I'm sure I can help you find something that makes sense for you guys.
Happy trackin,
