Why you gotta be careful of 'net info

That writer needs to be sat down Clockwork Orange style to watch a Woody Guthrie doc.

Haha - That's definitely a funny error. I'd generally I agree that you've got to be wary of info on the 'net, but I'm surprised to see that kind of error on Allmusic. They usually have pretty decent editorial standards. Unlike messageboards and most blogs, they do have actual "paid editors", and in that way they're a bit more like a traditional media outlet. I'll write to one of their guys and bring it to his attention.

I don't think their aspirations to catalog all the releases in the history of the universe will ever be complete or error-free, but when it comes to their actual written content, the site is usually pretty good. I don't think this kind of error is the norm for them.

I agree - I love that site!

But I do find myself reporting a problem about once a month, as I did this one, what is one of the funniest.

Another?

See the pic, here. ("Correction" button won't work for me on this one.)

And then there was the time I ran across "All Along the Watchtower by Jimi Hendrix."

Hey! They fixed the Woody!

But Black Francis' pic is still up ... And I still can't get the "Correction" button to work on that page.

I'm the house drummer for an open stage every Tuesday. There's a TERRIBLE guitar owner (not really a player) who calls it a Hendrix song, and I'd bet dollars to donuts he has no clue Dylan wrote it. He sings the first verse "There must be some kind of way out of here, said the joker to the FLEA"

speaking of allmusic, have we all ranted yet about their ridiculous albumcredits.com ripoff? http://www.analogindustries.com/blog/en ... 4100704375

basically you get to pay them an annual fee of $100 for the privilege of editing their database. this is a ripoff of monster cable-esque heinosity
