it's Summer 2012, where do we get CDs pressed?

Regional activities, relevant news, job openings, studio searches, local beer nights (not a forum to plug the new album you just worked on)

it's Summer 2012, where do we get CDs pressed?

I am looking for a quality, reputable pressing plant for a project. Saving money is great, getting the project done with proper results is much more important. Discmakers can't do what I need them to do.

let me know who you are using and sending clients to nowadays.

Thanks!

It would help to know what you want done that Discmakers can't do.

Discmakers can't do a standard 5"x5" 4 panel CD wallet with an outside thumb cut. Think of a standard "mini LP" style CD packaging. What they have to offer is a CD wallet that's the exact same size as a jewel case. Which is something like 5.5"x5" and really makes formatting the artwork for a reissue of an old LP annoying and unsightly.

Just wondering who their competition is nowadays.

I don't know if they have any competition on that scale right now. There is a company doing on-demand CD's/vinyl and packaging in varying amounts... Sorry, I forget there name but I was getting unsollicited e-mails for awhile; I'll try to remember (or dig-up an e-mail).

Have you thought of peicing it out; as in have someone manufacture the packaging that you're looking for, and have Discmakers (or anybody) do the CD's?

Could I ask what the reissue is? (Just because I'm nosey and love music).

I would hate to piece it out. I would rather have the finished shrink wrapped product come to my doorstep ready to go out for pre-orders and press. I also have an 19 month old at home and no where to assemble it without little handprints all over it.

It's the FOD (Flag of Democracy) Shatter Your Day reissue.

quite frankly the greatest, most important record of all time!
