Bay Area studios w/ a strong Americana/Bluegrass discography

Post by Tragabigzanda » Sat Oct 13, 2012 12:28 pm

The subject says it all: I'm looking at heading out to the Bay Area in January to do a record over about a week with an established Americana act. There would be five band members for basics, then we'd overdub strings and horns later. We'll need a great sounding live room with good iso options and great lines of sight, plus all the other requisite gear options.

We're considering John's studio in Sacramento (the Hangar), but want to know about any other options worth looking into. Thanks!

Designed by my mentor Charles Rook.

Good engineers, nice room, plus rehearsal studio.

Cheers

The rooms are great, and John is the coolest dude! They're all booked up for a while right now, so there's a bit of a waiting list, but it's worth it.

All excellent options. Also want to throw out there that my remodeled studio is up and running again now that I believe will meet all your described needs... Also in Sacramento:
