I still miss making records on the custom 8048 that I helped restore up ad Sound Design. The sound was amazing, but the maintenance was a headache.

People who use the mic preamp / EQ still have no idea how absolutely awesome it was to record with the actual consoles, with the 2" tape machine in the adjacent room, and hearing that back.

No cheating either. You either got it, or not.

BTW I did preorder the movie. Can;t wait to watch it.

And I live in Northridge, so I'll have to find out where Dave's studio is... maybe I can intern there for a bit.
Howling at the neighbors. Hoping they have more mic cables.

saw the movie last night, really enjoyed it. anyone else go? i couldn't have been the only boston-area dork there.

no, it was at the kendall thursday night. doesn't seem like it's getting much of a general release, i guess folks are just gonna have to buy it.
