HDCD MASTERING/ENCODING? ON A BUDGET?

Post by BruceBanner » Tue Jul 08, 2014 6:11 pm

I am the guy who still likes and buys CDs. I have a release I am working on, remix, remaster of an old record. I would love to do it as an HDCD (even if I can't use the logo/name).

Anyone know who masters that stuff? Anyone on here know how to master/encode it? Who does Neil Young use? can I buy them a case of fancy beer and have them do it?

HDCD is a dying / dead format.

As to who still does this, ask a few Mastering Houses. They'll know who has the hardware to do it.

Cheers

jeff at peerless can do it:

gonna cost you considerably more than a case of beer though.

I too still like buying CDs (vinyl too, for that matter). Not a personal recommendation, but http://superaudioproduction.com/home.html might be a good place to start...

Thanks guys. I wasn't really expecting to get it for a case of beer. But I would like to fund a joint that could master a hardcore record for LP and CD (HDCD) at a reasonable price.

HDCD is not a dead format at my house, and I am going to listen to this CD a bunch over the years.

anyone out there with the ability to do this please get in touch with me. 40 minute LP 80 minute CD.

Thanks
