Can I borrow your recent-model MBox in NYC for a few weeks?

Regional activities, relevant news, job openings, studio searches, local beer nights (not a forum to plug the new album you just worked on)

Can I borrow your recent-model MBox in NYC for a few weeks?

Weird request, I know, but I'm in a pickle: I'm doing some remote mixing of a friend's record and the projects are all in PT at 24/88.2. I have PT 8 LE and a 1st-gen MBox but it can't handle the files. Looks like I need a more recent model MBox or MBox Pro or Digi002 (that can do 96kHz audio) to even open these projects. I only need it for a few weeks, as the project is winding down and we are supposed to be finalizing mixes.

So - I realize it's kind of a stretch to just lend a stranger some gear, so I'd be happy to do a temporary gear swap w/ something worth more, or some kinda barter or trade. I have a bunch of instruments and some outboard gear. (I also have a huge stack of TapeOp mags going back man, many years that I'd consider donating to the cause). Or I could put down some cash as collateral. Whatever eases your mind. Happy to provide personal/professional references as well - I'm a long time music-for-picture producer/creative in the NYC area and am totally legit - just don't want to pony up for a piece of gear I'm probably only going to use once, ya know? I'm in Brooklyn - probably have to confine the search to BK or Manhattan. Please PM me or email me at lukievan@gmail.com

...and thank you very, very much!!

Hi Luke,

http://www.sweetwater.com/shop/pro-tools/le_chart.php

You'll also need a higher version of ProTools, since 8LE apparently only does 24 bit 48kHz audio anyways.

Do you have PT 9 yet?

Otherwise, you'll need to convert into a DAW that you do have available, in order to mix it within ProTools.

Cheers
Howling at the neighbors. Hoping they have more mic cables.

Thanks for the info Nick! I can't use another DAW since we will be doing further mixing/editing in PT (someone else's system) after I work on it a bit.

My sources tell me PT LE8 is good up to 96kHz:
