Chicago studio reccomendation for next weekend?

Regional activities, relevant news, job openings, studio searches, local beer nights (not a forum to plug the new album you just worked on)

Chicago studio reccomendation for next weekend?

Post by ec » Thu Aug 21, 2014 8:27 pm

Hey all. I'm looking to do some acoustic, and possibly electric, guitar tracking either Friday 8/29 or Saturday 8/30 here in Chicago. Smaller studios are great. I don't need a gargantuan mic locker, mainly just a nice sounding room and a few decent mics/pres. I can engineer if necessary, but I'd rather focus on playing, so this includes engineer recommendations.

I'm still debating between a ~5 hour block and a full day. Anybody available then, or want to put me in touch with someone who is?

Thanks,
-Erik

So many great studios in town, but from your description I'd have to recommend Experimental Sound Studio. They have a great sounding live room, a really nice vibe, and great engineers. Check them out.

Thanks for the recommendations. I wound up booking a day at Observatory Studios with Erik Rasmussen. Looking forward to it!
