I was extremely saddened by both the news of his passing, and the way I had to find out (I stumbled upon a tiny article that gave little info, and most news outlets seem to be ignoring the story).

I got it offa the local big-city paper; a few hours later CNN picked up the story here and again, here.

(The second CNN article claims that Belushi parodied him once, and shows a pic with John Lee Hooker but fails to ID Willie Dixon in the same shot.)

I'm a big fan, and besides the first cuppla albums and the live Mad Dogs thing, especially love Sheffield Steel with Sly & Robbie. I have a cuppla DVD's, also.

A local drum guy, Sandy Konikoff, played drums and percussion on Mad Dogs & Englishmen alongside Gordon and Keltner (he also played with Dylan for a bit).
