It's a long story, but I left my 1200 sq ft of free space in Greenpoint back in 2000. Now it's getting to the point where nobody but the richest can afford to be there and that's a shame. All hail the almighty dollar!

Good that Dave Grohl tried to help them out, but seems rents are out of hand.

and Coast Recorders in S.F. (Putnam room) closed it's doors last week.

It's crazy cos I'm seeing so many empty storefronts in Manhattan.

People want to live in a vibrant area that's brimming with culture. Unfortunately a lot of the people with big $ move into that neighborhood and end up forcing out all those vibrant artistic types.

Took a walk this morning, even more vacant storefronts. Like seriously more.
