This one hit close to heart. So sad to hear from our loss.
I've been listening to Blackstar since it came out and have been thoroughly enjoying it.
Farewell.

Even after everything he brought, it still feels too soon. One of the gods.

Biggest shock for me since MJ. I didn't know about his cancer.

A couple of years ago, I saw Suzanne Vega playing with Gerry Leonard, who played guitar with Bowie sometimes. I recommend his Spooky Ghost albums.

I was thinking as I watched the video that he didn't look so great, but I had attributed it to age and the hard life of a rock star. Now I guess we know why. The world sucks a little more today.

Feel really lucky to have gotten to see him play a general admission show on the Earthling tour, as well as a cameo at Carnegie Hall. Heroes changed my life, particularly the instrumental side. I'm not usually one to get maudlin about the passing of pop stars, but DB's a little different. He made it okay to be a weirdo. Rather shaped my worldview with his lyrics.

So long, Star Man. May your comet trail be ever undiminished.

So much of the music I love traces back or ties into Bowie, Reed, and Iggy. Who but DB could work with both Henson and Reznor?
Thank you, sir.

No doubt. And Bing Crosby.

This is a huge hit to the world's artist community, and the world as a whole.

His line, "Ground Control to Major Tom" is heard, and used, by me at least a couple times a year.

Its melody is currently on loop in my head, followed by "Ashes to ashes, funk to funky."
