A veritable institution in the retail music business closed today after 41 years in business. The last location of the once mighty Record Theatre, flagship store of the Record Theatre retail chain, that also included a one-stop distributor warehouse and the internationally successful label Amherst Records (Spyro Gyra, Doc Severenson, Menudo, Melony, Jackie DeShannon, Glen Medeiros, Solomon Burke, and others) closed it's doors for the last time at 6:00 pm EST.
