Maybe they can make some “les Paul” finished recto cabinets and further dilute both brands...

Mesa is actually the only “real” amp I have at the moment. I don’t really see what Gibson gains by acquiring all of these classic non competing brands over the years just to kill them. Why don’t they do what they do best - selling expensive guitars based on a 60 year old design for 1%ers to display in a glass cabinet?

this has less to do with gibson and more to do with Randall Smith (Mesa owner) cashing out and retiring. he's old, and is probably getting a mountain of cash. good for him, bad for mesa boogie fans. expect pre-gibson boogies to be at a premium now.

i do agree that gibson will ruin another iconic american brand.

This is not necessarily a bad thing. Remember, their nasty CEO was ousted.

My very first real amp was a MKIII. Still miss it.

Howling at the neighbors. Hoping they have more mic cables.

I used to have a Mark II B; like Mick Jones' (Clash) and Keef's, it was blonde.

Sounded great, but far too loud, even with a Powersoak, so it is one of the few amps I ever sold. I think I needed rent money, also.

Anywhat, I love the Boogie sound, so 3 years ago I bought a Ampeg VT60, which has a channel that does it pretty well.

But last year, I found a .50 caliber in 9/10 condition for under US$400 shipped and got that - next to the Mark II and the Express 50w., it's my fave Boogie. Wait, I mean, even better than those, the first as said too loud, and the fecund too complicated.

I think I prefer it to my original Silver Jubilee that has been my fave for 30 years.

But now, now I anticipate it really appreciating in value.

Is my Trem-o-verb combo going up in value now?
