RIP Rupert Neve

Post by Scodiddly » Sat Feb 13, 2021 2:13 pm

One of the most influential designers of recording gear has passed on. I'm not even going to try to summarize everything Mr. Neve did over many years as a designer and manufacturer. In my own little corner of the audio world, live sound, he even designed a processor that helps lectern mics and even the ref mic in football games sound better.

Yeah. It’s hard to be sad at times like these. He had a long life full of amazing adventures and lasting achievements. I’ll be bummed that I never got to shake his hand, but I’m happy to have a few bits of his gear between my ref/anthem mics and the bowl.

I know a couple people at RND and some others who have known the man. All speak of him with the highest level of respect, not only for his accomplishments, but for his continued drive for knowledge, advancing the art, and mentorship. He will be missed.

This tribute on the RND sight is lovely.
