Not sure about that one, but they did write a song for Pizza Hut that was rejected by the company...it was called something like "Where's the Cheese?"

"Where'd The Cheese Go?" is the finest, most persuasive, most brilliant piece of advertising ever recorded. BBDO, the advertising agency, was crazy to pass on it. Here is the link -

and the R-rated version "Bitch, Where'd the Motherfuckin' Cheese Go At?"

Was Clara Peller in Ween?

You guys should hear the Schlitz jingle that Steely Dan did. It was rejected, too.

I heard the song on the ad and thought ...what the hell is this? it's great!!

Someone told me it was Ween. "The Ocean" ...or something ...was the title(?)

"Ocean Man"

it's a track off of The Mollusk. a ween song in a car ad, i couldn't believe it either. a great pop song, and yeah you're right about the vocals. they're seem to like fucking with vocal pitch, among other things.

Even better than the fact that they have songs in commercials is the fact that they were hired to write a song for a frigging Muppets movie. "Eye To The Sky" is a fantastic song written for that Muppet movie where Gonzo was in space or something to that effect. Haven't seen the movie so I don't know if it was actually put in the movie or not. Either way, great song. Another of my favorites is "The Meadow" and I have no idea what it's from. I think it's a fairly rare non-album song or else on antother bands album. I found it in mp3 form on Limewire or something like that. It's great. I highly recommend you all look for that one if you haven't heard it.

Saw them live at Red Rocks about four rows back. Awesome, awesome show.
If it sounds good, it is good.

Every Ween album is a great one. I think one of their most underrated is 12 Country Greats. Live = Amazing. I own all of their releases (except for some live bootleg stuff but that is what weenradio.net is for). Oddly enough I listened to Quebec while checking out the new Tape Op today.

wEEN. Man. The only band I've ever seen live more than twice. I've seen them many times. They are in my top ten rock band list. Top 10. Ever. Yet...are they rock? It's hard to pigeon hole them. They're great. I love them. I've been listening to them since 1992. I think they truly achieved greatness when they toured for their country album. The Mollusk topped that. The song Transdermal Celebration makes me teary. The Argus and Zoloft are pure beauty. wEEN actually inspired me to make me start recording. I thought, if these two dudes can make something work from their homes, maybe I can too. Great schtuff. Great schtuff.

I saw Ween in NYC on their tour for the country record. What a hilarious show, and a good one. It was really cool that they had real Nashville session guys playing with them. Some of the guys were pretty old. I remember them looking at each other during "Piss Up a Rope" as if to say "what the hell did we get into?". They did seem to enjoy it, though.

Ween kind of scare me. They're freaky geniuses that can nail any genre. Some bands will try to approximate say, a mid-70's AM radio sugar rock sound, and Ween will record like they were there in the studio next door to Looking Glass and Three Dog Night.

They're not going to get the credit they deserve in their lifetime but will always be talked about. Even 50 years from now, I bet and shit.
