Critique my mix...If Roy Orbison made a home demo
i'm trying learn how to mix my one songs. here's one of them that i did it...the feel i'm going for is if roy orbison made a home demo... let me know if there any glaring issues or specifc things i could improve on.... thanks..

It?s a good song with a solid, simple arrangement and structure. You kinda have to go out of your way to mess a mix up if you have those fundamentals in place
The execution of the key part at the end is a little too off for me. Idea is good, just need to nail the take a bit better for me.

Turn up the bass a bit, and turn up the bass drum a lot. It needs that bottom end thump-along, IMHO. Kinda absent now, at least in my headphones at work. Otherwise, sounds great.
Style sounds a lot like what I'm doing with my solo stuff. If you're using a DAW, try creating a tempo map based upon the most grooving track with obvious transients -- like the hi-hat, for example -- and then line up the ocassional errant bass note, snare hit and/or bass drum hit, for example. Will help create a tighter feel, if that's what yer wantin'...
