I would suggest non-volatile free file hosting and a modification of the original post with links to download the tracklisting we end up with. BUT i'm not in charge. :D

I'm down for throwing together some cover art, if desired.

Yeah, I like that idea (file hosting, and cover art).

OK. Now that that's settled, I'm going to continue with my ignorance here. (Let me know if this starts getting old):

This is a volatile subject as it is, but I think it might apply to this situation. Should I/we be trying to get the track up to some kind of standard volume level? Dare I say it, "self-mastered"?

*ducks to avoid rotten tomatoes*

or not...

Obviously if this were being released somehow, we'd want someone else to master the whole thing, but since I don't think that's happening....

just curious.

How's everybody doing? (other than those who've already posted their songs)
I will definetely need until Friday. Hoping I can get everything done tonight and post tomorrow. Working 'til the bitter end.
Anybody volunteering to 'master' this? Decide on a track order?
Cover art is beautiful.
Looking forward to listening to this as a finished product. We should send one to Mr. Oldham.

Yeah, let's shoot for this weekend to have all submissions in. I ended up just doing one - A Beast for Thee.
If everyone wants to send me a 24bit/44.1k stereo wav, I can do some volume normalizing and "mastering" and all that fun stuff. PM me for my email address.

Almost there...

Everything's done except for vocals. Well, I've done vocals, but not any that I can stand yet.

Hopefully today I'll channel some genius...

That was me last night. I went to re-check my mix, and I hated my vocal track, so redid it. I'll probably hate the redone vocals too, but that's always the case with me.

OK. I just finished recording some vocals that I think are the keepers.

After about 20 takes, over the past week, of trying to sing the part a bunch of different ways (including just being myself) and hating it all with a type of self loathing I'd rather avoid, I ended up trying a kind of spoken word version that I think I actually like....

It's pretty stupid, but apparently, so is me trying to sing this song for real.

I'll try and finish mixing sometime this afternoon.
