I really don't know what to make of this, i know this use of auto-tune is nothing new, but something about it. Maybe i don't watch enough Much Music/MTV and need to be desensitized ...Thoughts?

Maybe it's just the narrators voice.

Maybe that singer totally suckz for realz, but his dad is so effing connected in Hollywood that they had to figure *something* out to get that stuff on the radio. I'd love to hear that vocal track without the tuning.

Here's my favorite autotune. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R7yfISlGLNU&fmt=18

That and "Autotune the News".

(I think I heard that "Stereos" guy saying "shorty" through the autotune, trying to sound like T_Pain.

BTW - People need to get in the habit (at least on TOMB) of adding &fmt=18 to their Youtube URLS.

THanks,

no, he can sing ok. I've seen them live and they have songs without the auto tune. There is something deeper about this that bothers me.

what does "&fmt=18" do?

there is something called synesthesia where sounds can make people see colors. i don't have to wonder if there is a similar effect that can cause nausea. i'm dead serious. pure hell. a watershed moment of interrogation tactics. i feel like trashing my studio!

Try a youtube with and without it and see.

(It makes the audio stereo and more hifi.)
