Ron Wood's "I've Got My Own Album To Do"

Post by Esmo » Mon Feb 15, 2010 11:25 am

I've really been enjoying this album recently. Its his first solo album and it has bunch of Faces folks on it plus Mick Jagger, George Harrison and Wilie Weeks. It has a real great sound/feel to it and the songs are quite extraordinary. Sounds like they are having fun in the studio. Anybody else a fan?

There are some neat videos of the band playing live with Keith as well.

I haven't heard it since back in the day, but yeah I owned that one and wore it out.

That's a great album!

For my $ though 'Gimme Some Neck' is THE Ron Wood record.

I agree on Neck, and "FUC Her", "Infection" and the Dylan cover kill!

Any Stones / Faces fan that doesn't know this record has a treat coming to them.
Also, it has Andy Newmark on drums.

The next one, "Now Look", is produced by Bobby Womack and it is swanky as hell.

Love both those records. Now I gotta get me some "Neck".

All of his albums have some real jewels on them. As much as I love the Stones, and love Ronnie with the Stones, I would really like to visit the alternate universe were Woody released a couple dozen solo albums.
