First (and hopefully not only) song for the RPM challenge: a long-distance collaboration with an old friend. Fuzz bass and drum machine are me, vocals and Minimoog farts are him. Editing/mixing is me.

As per request…
The Drawbars‘ first album „One Finger Only“, recorded early in 2020, is FINALLY out vinyl/CD/download/streaming:
https://linktr.ee/thedrawbars (link includes Bandcamp and all the other usual services)
recorded live in the studio, only overdub is handclaps on one song and a single space echo track at the end of the final piece.
Hammond B3 and (Korg) ARP Odyssey into Space Echo and Leslie 760, Wurlitzer 200a into Deluxe Memory Man and some 1940s tube amp.
+ Bass & Drums.
It was recorded and mixed by Dennis Rux at the great (now sadly demolished) Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! Studios here in Hamburg.
Mastered by Doug Krebs.
The folks at Color Red did the (fabulous) artwork:

Re: List your Bandcamp page
love your band man, ordering that record now
Re: List your Bandcamp page
Aw, thanks, guys.
We've also released two super-limited 7" singles via Burning Sole (a third is on the way). If they're sold out on BC, there might still be some available via Discogs...

Re: List your Bandcamp page
yeah i've already got both 7" man, i'm a big soul-jazz fan, so your stuff is much appreciated
Re: List your Bandcamp page
It's still a little surreal that a guy on the other side of the world tells you he really digs stuff you've made and has already bought your singles. If you dig the Drawbars, you may appreciate another project I'm in with the bass player, David Nesselhauf, and the producer who engineered The Drawbars' album, Dennis Rux.
It's called "The Angels of Libra".
Dennis' initial idea was to recruit a collective of studio musicians that he could offer as resident bands to various artists who wanted to work with him.
So the core band — Dennis, David (bass), Lucas Kochbeck (drums), and me — rented a little hut in Denmark for a week, rolled up with a Tascam 388, a philicorda, Wurlitzer, my Space Echo, an old teardrop kit, and an AC30, and came back with twelve basic tracks to seed to various singers.
We've put out a couple of soul bangers with Maiiah and a 7" single with Shawn Lee, followed by the album "Nathan Johnston & the Angels of Libra" last year.
A Wu-Tang-style hip-hop track featuring Joél David came out earlier this year, and our second album "Revelations" just came out yesterday.
"Revelations" is one my favourite things I've ever worked on. Though I do love how the first album starts off sunny and light and gets progressively darker and epic over the course of two sides.
