Yeah, I'm with you on that. I just can't wear that record out.
I also really dug the newest Animal Collective album, Feels, their most song-oriented, fully formed music yet.
Nobody has mentioned The Woods by Sleater-Kinney, which probably rocks way too hard for most folks, but you've gotta love Dave Friedman's tape-smashed production.

1. Low ? The Great Destroyer
2. The Posies ? Every Kind of Light
3. The New Pornogragphers ? Twin Cinema
4. Neil Diamond ? 12 Songs
5. John Vanderslice ? Pixel Revolt
6. Krafterwerk ? Minimum/Maximum
7. Richard Buckner ? Dents and Shells (though that might have been last year)
Any one would make a GREAT gift.

Both my drummer and I REALLY dig this record but the other guitar player and bass player in our group can't stand it. They're Nick Oliveri fans.John Jeffers wrote:Queens of the Stone Age, "Lullabies to Paralyze"
I would also like to mention; The Life And Times - Suburban Hymns, record. Very cool stuff.

How could I forget?1! Kings of Leon, "Aha Shake Heartbreak" was and is definitely my favorite 2005 release! Even though my family and friends hate it. To quote a friend: "It sounds like how I played guitar in the 7th grade". Haters. The album has a great vibe. I also liked Ben Folds, "Songs for Silverman" a lot.iwokojance wrote:I've only bought one new album this year. White Stripes-Get Behind me Satan. I gave it rave reviews upon first listen, but after 3 or 4 more listens it really began to bore me. There are some good songs, but the album as a whole is not great. Were there any great albums of 2005? Aside from that, I also downloaded some Kayne West because I like a couple of his songs. Other than that, it seemed like 2005 was a fairly uneventful year for great albums.

super amazing record tracked on a 1" 8 track. sounds like 24 tracks... amazing!
Stephen Malkmus & the Jicks: FACE THE TRUTH... the man can do no wrong, great prog-rock-out record.
Dungen - who knows what it's called, but it kicks ass in a kind of one dimensional unintelligble way.

most of the stuff i'be been grooving on lately is old.... nilsson, earth wind and fire, otis redding, dylan, WHO, NEU! CAN and all that jazz.... jazz... coletrane, davis mmmmm. cal tjader,.... hancock.
