Don Juan Dracula and cheese

Post by drmorbius » Fri Nov 11, 2005 6:04 am

I just found this band Don Juan Dracula on Myspace. They're from Norway, but I think are gaining some exposure in the US, although they've never played a show outside their homeland.

This music is cheesy, but I love it and can't stop listening. How does one reconcile a love of cheese with a sense of maturity and discipline?

Is it enough to say that it's "well-crafted"? I think effective cheese goes beyond this and taps into a part of us that wishes we lived in a non-judgemental world of play. What do you think?

What do you do when you're in the studio and the project goes in a cheesy direction? Do you feel a sense of guilt?
