anyone else here into this guy? i remembered hearing some of his stuff a long time ago. but recently took a listen to 'bridge of sighs' at borders. wow wow wow! i had to buy it. heavy, trippy, but not over the top weird. heavy blues rock with a stoney vibe. great songs, riffy. good drumming. i have the remastered cd but i'd imagine the vinyl must have sounded amazing! cool stuff.

Yeah, he was an early member of the 'mellowed out Hendrix vibe" club. Along with Mahogany Rush, and (much later) Stevie Ray Vaughn.

They used to call him "the white Jimi Hendrix"....he can definately create a dreamy mood...I got to see him a few years ago at a local venue that seated around 300 or so. He was playing a strat through a pair of white Marshall stacks & was the only member of the band who was NOT mic-ed, just playing to the room.....his tone & performance were perfect...staggering to say the least. A phenominal show....what a great player. He created those spacey, psychadelic, moody solos that were, at the same time dark and exciting, dripping with authority! Not a Jimi ripoff at all, but I can see where the comparisons come from, they are both powerful, blues inspired players of the highest rank!

he's phenomenal live- even at 62! i caught him on his last tour in north america in 2001. he'll be around again this summer!

Robin Trower is amazing, and Bridge of Sigh's is some really emotional work. Jack Bruce was incredible on that album too.

I remember when I was 16 (i'm 28 now), an older guy I worked with gave me a robin trower cd to check out. I thought it was ok but not my thing back then. I'll have to give it another listen and see if the added years changes anything for me. Btw, the first time I heard hendrix I thought he was awful! What a stupid kid I was.

???? the credits don't say anything about jack bruce on that record. the singer/bassist is james dewar.
