Im working on my first "serious" album (i dont mean professionally serious per se) -- ive been recording for about 5 years and have 9 albums under my belt
(older albums documented at http://delmorepilcrow.com)
the new one is called e4/e5 -- slotted for release in september 2006
my recording style and sound is very 'lo-fi' (by necessity but not without a lil' artistic hindsight -- long story short, im not going for lofi, but i dont dislike it either -- I have an affintiy for albums 'in the red' (whitelightwhiteheat, raw power etc)
anyways, ive got some rough mixes of these songs up on myspace, and in an mp3 folder on my website
http://www.myspace.com/chrisgarver
http://www.chrisgarver.com/mpthrees/
(all the songs starting with 00 are newuns for the album)
I know its gonna sound really rough to you guys, but i was hoping maybe certain things would stand out like "ah, dude, you need to kill the suchandsuch in the guitar and youll be aces"
wishful thinking!

I gave a listen to Southfork Luncheon Blues. Sort of a hurky jerky feel to this. I like the drunken train half off the tracks feel, it's like the whole thing is about to fall apart, but still hangs together. There's distortion at around 1:00 where the other vocal comes in for a few seconds. Overall, vocal sounds distorted in a not so pleasant way. I like the guitar and drums. Odd that the drums drop out, but kind of cool too. Interesting song.
