It's like the soundtrack to an ugly horse trapped in a cage, and the horse is frightened, and there's a ranger coming to slaughter it, and the horse is so sad about it's lot it ties itself to the bars of the cage and begs for death, but the ranger is cruel and slashes too lightly so that the horses pain continues, and the ranger shows no emotion, and the horse has lost the will to feel, and as the slashing continues the horse has no pain left to feel but never truly dies, just spends an eternity being slashed by an immortal ranger, and then the ranger removes his face, which is a mask, and the ranger is actually the horse, but no-one is feeling and the slashing continues, on and on, forever.
The large print giveth, and the small print taketh away.

You watch, that'll show up in the liner notes.

I'll buy the native american thing I suppose but where does the jazz come in? Because it is improvised?

Sure, why not? He might fit other categories too, but "jazz musician" fits him fine, also his daughter is on all the jazz radio stations a lot.

Norah Jones sings stuff like Hoagy Carmichael tunes, jazz standards from the jazz tradition, albeit in more of a pop style. Ravi plays Hindustani music, a music with a really long, distinct history and non-western tradition. Apples and oranges. I only persist 'cause folks use the term jazz pretty loosely and probably incorrectly often. It just further dillutes the term and peoples conceptions of the music. Fortunately music, jazz or not, is not brain surgery!!!

yeah, ampguy just wants to be patted on the head and told he's doing some really good stuff, so he can run back and select a new beat from the casio. Then we all play the stuff for unsuspecting friends and watch their reactions for amusement.
