Hi folks -
Recently finished a CD. For info and streaming MP3s:
http://caseyconnor.org/blover.html
Download options include mp3's of varying quality as well as uncompressed downloads for those with the bandwith and interest to hear the real thing:
http://caseyconnor.org/blover_download.html
Lots going on in the mix. My second or third serious album mix.
Caveats:
- recorded entirely through an AKG C535 (handheld condenser, really more for live use) and DI from the guitar (a couple tracks have a synth in there.)
- half of it through a generic soundblaster card, half through a Presonus Firebox
- mastered using home stereo speakers
- a lot of impersonation going on with the instrumentation: "Cherry Blossoms" uses a flute taken down a couple octaves for the bass, many other basses are guitars taken down an octave, all guitar sounds are originally acoustic guitars, percussion is all processed cardboard boxes and djembes, etc.
Any thoughts? Don't be afraid to be critical.
Thanks!

I really enjoyed the songs and the way you recorded them. As a matter of fact I am enjoying Cherry Blossoms as I type. You have inspired me to start recording again.
