Most overrated albums?
Any albums you think are particularly overrated? Not albums you dislike, heck you could love an album but think it just gets too much praise. Overrated?
I'd pick "Dark Side of the Moon". Some good songs here and there, but I got sick of this album in junior high. I simply don't see why it holds so many chart records, etc. All in all I guess it's a masterpiece for Pink Floyd and THAT sums up it's weaknesses too. Pink Floyd has kind of a low ceiling IMO.

Me too...except for the Pink Floyd record, though I like it. And you can keep the Beach Boys, that Smile tragedy especially....and all their earlyish Chuck Berry rip off music.ipressrecord wrote:All of the above are my favorite albums.
But! Sgt. Pepper? The White Album? Are you kidding?! I can't find a bad moment on either...even when Yoko is singing I'm okay with it!

i gotta agree with dark side. i hadn't listened to it in decades, put it on awhile back fully prepared to be Totally Blown Away, Man...and, meh. it's GOOD, but i can't say i was amazed by it or anything.
loveless? a totally unique record, for sure...but i rarely find myself listening to it front to back...

"earlyish Chuck Berry rip off music?" LOL. . .not too much british rock from the time that WASN'T chuck berry rip off music!
There are a lot of albums that are overrated that I still love. Just because you can't find bad moments on them doesn't mean they're not overrated!
