Hi
I know this isn't strictly the right place for this (although I'll add that if you want to check out my new album, it's available to download for free right now from Fakesensations.com - but didn't really know where else to put it.
I just wanted to alert users of this board to my blog, A Song A Day, which is all about tips, advice and info on embracing the DIY music world and making some kind of career out of your music outside the traditional industry. There's interviews with people who've set up their own record labels, articles about using social network site to your advantage, some great advice from the likes of New Music Strategies Andrew Dubber, that kind of thing. It's not exhaustive, but it's my take on the whole thing.
So - what authority do I have to pronounce on this stuff??
Well, I've worked in music for 10 years - first as a journalist (NME and many others), then I released a couple of records on Wall Of Sound, and now I work at Last.fm and am self-releasing an album. Hopefully I have insights into the whole business that may be of interest. Anyway, check it out and see what you think.
Thanks
Christian
