The James Gang were great

Post by honkyjonk » Sun Jul 06, 2008 6:02 pm

Every time I pull out one of their records I just frikkin love it. My favorite album is 'Thirds' but I have a hard time not liking any song they did.

Are they in the Rock and Roll hall of fame yet or what?

Anyway, just saying . . . They were awesome and I wish they got more attention.
Stilgar, we've got wormsign the likes of which God has never seen!

I agree, they burned bright for a short period of time.
"Tend My Garden" is a great song, as are "Ashes, the Rain and I", "The Bomber".

I'll have to find me a copy of Thirds, don't have that one.

That live In Concert album sonically sounds like ass, but it rocks hard!

Oh man, yes is the james gang ever good (with Joe Walsh, that is... don't have any post-Walsh material).
If you like Thirds, have you checked BARNSTORM? Joe continued with his more acoustic, ballad-y songwriter-y side on this first post-gang album.

I have a cassette somewhere, has 'Funk #48' and '49'. I can't remember what was different about 48...

If I remember correctly, "Funk 48" was an entirely different tune, right? I remember it as being pretty badass, but no one ever talks about that one.

I've got all of them on vinyl and they're AWESOME.

"Yer Album" is great man. There's a groove at the end of each side that's a complete loop. It keeps saying "Turn me over. . .turn me over. . .turn me over. . ." and then "Play me again. . .play me again. . .play me again. . ."
