The Queen Is Dead: A Classic Under Review - Pitchfork.tv

Pitchfork.tv has The Queen Is Dead: A Classic Under Review on on their website as part of their One Week Only streams. I haven't watched the whole thing yet but it seems to have some nice tidbits about what went into the recording of that record - effects, songwriting, etc.

i got as far as 5 but got sick of Morrisey this and Morrisey that and seemingly little to do with the music side of things.

Thanks for the tip. Brought back a lot of memories. I really need to rebuy a bunch of Smiths stuff. Was lucky enough to see them on the Meat is Murder tour and The Queen is Dead tour. I have no idea how they pulled off How Soon is Now, but it blew my fourteen year old mind.

Thanks a lot, just caught it before it disappeared. I'll agree it's a bit Morrissey-heavy but to me Marr's role is less interesting. I'm a sucker for stories behind lyrics, not what songs guitar tuning influenced something. I did enjoy seeing how the second guitarist played on the Queen is Dead.
