New Cure album

Post by Rolsen » Wed Nov 19, 2008 3:35 pm

This new album came out on the 13th though seems to have received little fanfare. I think it is excellent in both production and songwriting! Its got that double fuzz/fizz guitar with wah, delay going on, over mostly very uptempo beats. Very rock. Reminds me of Wish in a way. I tend to like everything they put out, even the newer stuff that fans seem to have poo-pood ? I think this ranks with the best of their discography. Any other impressions?

thank god! i thought i was alone!

i really love this record, too. i think that first track is a beautiful way to start off the disc, and then "wham!" right into "the only one" which is easily one of my favourite songs of the year.

the recording does sound really good, too!

i got all excited b/c for awhile there their website made it sound like their label was going to let smith mix all the songs himself and release a special double album. it's a bummer that didn't happen, but they hope to release the "mopier" disc early next year.

I have been digging it the last week, as have my 10 and 11 y.o. kids.

I find it a little bit "samey", but I like the Cure.

I thought the last record was better material, but I like the rock side of 'em.

Indeed, I will have a clove, and let only speak in archaic tongues
