I thought this was going to be about the latest Brendan O'Brien remix of Huey Lewis' Sports album.

i've been on tour with Lil Wayne and T.Pain for the past couple months, if I hear one more song with Auto Tune I will puke my guts out...

I'm fairly certain real life conversations will soon be auto tuned.

Question: when one of our current big-name conspicuous-Autotune wizards sings live (say, for example, hypothetically, maybe somebody like T.Pain) and wants the autotune effect, do they actually sing through an Antares rack unit so as to generate the effect live in real-time? (This may be moot if the singing is not live, or if this is all a big trade secret)

Just curious

My impression is yes. Then you've got yer Britneys, yer Jessicas, etc. that sing through it live and don't want you to notice!

if you can actually sing and just want the effect, you can always use the correction available on most decent pitch transposers made since the early 90s.
