VVV, I almost bought "Head on the Door" today,
instead I bought and listened to:

Return to Forever, Romantic Warrior
because: I saw a jazz band last night; an old friend once said the record cover was awesome; and another old friend's brother loved the record.

In the middle of watching The Cotton Club with my kids.

What I mention because of a kinda young, suave and de-boner Tom Waits as the talent manager ...

Listening to the Jesus & Macy Chain Peel Sessions, and a DBT live download.

Like Waits, I like word-play.

As in, "debonair".

Altho "Jesus and Macy Chain" was a unintentional typo.

Listening to the latest Interpol in earbuds. The sounds are cool - immaculate production and the playing is tight as heck. The lyrics and arrangements I have decided about yet - there's hooks, but ...

The Dream Syndicate, Medicine Show + This Is Not the New Dream Syndicate Live EP:
No secret I'm a big fan of this band, one of the original Paisley Underground bands outta CA in the '80's, followers of Lou Reed/VU and even Coltrane. This album, produced by Sandy Perlman (BOC, Clash, etc.) is one of my top 10's. I mean, of all. And the included EP in the 2010 re-master is now complete, and I was at part of that show and treasure it for that reason, and as one of the best live records ever. (Altho' The Complete Live at Raji's is even better.) No shite, 5/5 olives.

Grinderman, Grinderman 2: only heard it a cuppla times, but it's a step-up in production from the first - very cool sounds - and the performances and songs are just as good, even if there is no standout like "No Pussy Blues."
