Re: What are you listening to today?
Today, all day, has been the Pitchfork GoFundMe collection.
Somewhat obscure covers by somewhat obscure bands.
I mean, obscure to me - I'm old.
Really good, tho'.

Today? ..100 Watt Vipers ! ! . . .The only plugged-in band I'll listen to.

Clown Core's new album is, well it's just fascinating. So much talent and nerd-ery put into an elaborate unlistenable joke that's peppered with profundity

Sly's There's a Riot Going On, I've been leaving the second side repeating on the record changer quite a bit lately. Love those drum machine based tracks in the middle of the side.
Revisiting JTE's Nothing's Gonna Change... quite a bit since his passing.
At a friend's insistence, have been getting into Dr. Hook's Sloppy Seconds.

Village Idiot.

Psych Furs-Radio One Live, Nirvana-In Utero and Mudhoney-Tomorrow Hit Today, and Chris Isaak-Baja Sessions.
Yesterday was Ed O'Brien (Radiohead)-Earth.
Also, Mark Lanegan's book, Sing Backwards and Weep is really something ... I put it up there with Bob Mould's See a Little Light - entertaining, informative and rather disturbing. Love em!

Crack The SKy-All of it. Saw them open for Atlanta Rhythm Section in 78 at The State Theater. (Jay Ferguson-Thunder Island in the middle). Wrecked my 8th grade brain. Still stands proud and strong. Fukkin amazing band. The live album's a good place to start.

Fun! Gotta read Lanegans book. He is a talented Crab. Saw Screaming Trees a bunch before I toured with them and Soul Asylum and Sxxn Doxxxxxs. in 93. Hard to be a Junkie in the summer sun in your long sleeved wool shirt and black pants tucked in your cowboy boots, while you hate everyone around you, when it's 105 degrees in San Antonio. The Bob Mould thing is whatever you think it is. I watched Husker Du form in my 8th grade record store next to my jr High, where Grant worked (Cheapo Records),1/2 block from Macalester college (where Bob moved from Malone,Ny). The scene in MPLS at the time was pretty awesome. Out every night-didnt care who was playing-you'd see something interesting.vvv wrote: ↑Sat Sep 26, 2020 10:16 amPsych Furs-Radio One Live, Nirvana-In Utero and Mudhoney-Tomorrow Hit Today, and Chris Isaak-Baja Sessions.

Been listening to the Stratosphere CD by Duster. I hadn't listened to it in years--holds up pretty well.
Re: What are you listening to today?
James McMurtry's latest, Rhino's Best of Dr. John and Iggy live in Chicago '88 (I was at the Metro show).
But I been recording, too, so - me.
Check this McMurtry out:

Re: What are you listening to today?
i've been on a Muse kick lately, their early stuff (Absolution, Symmetry) specifically. it's a nice change of pace from the mostly jazz and funk i'm listening to.
Re: What are you listening to today?
Went for a run and put on the remastered version of What’s the Story, Morning Glory, which I haven’t spent much time with. If ever there was a record in need of remastering, it was that one.

Logan's Run soundtrack. Jerry Goldsmith. Strings and electronics. What's not to like?
