I don't know where this would go but...I just had to share with someone.

God, I wish I could embed this.

This is actually really scary for me..when I imagine myself trying to make it in the music business, I imagine myself as this guy.
It frightens me to know that there's an extensive amount of time and money and thought invested here.

Yeah - we don't get to hear if he's on pitch with actual music here. Sounded a little funny even to me, though.

That guy needs to decide if he's a drummer or a cymbler.

I've never thought to set up (& play) cymbals in stereo but now I understand...really helps with the imaging.

What does he *think* he's advertising ? his "talent," or multi-tiered cymbal stands, or what? And where can I get me some o' them snappy duds?

Oh.

My.

God.

Just make sure you watch them all. It gets better as it goes. Really.

[edit]

What is it that makes people make funny faces when they play? Zoolander has Blue Steel, this guy has that crazy-eyed smile, and I personally have something which has been charitably described as "The Fish Face". I fought it for years, and finally gave up.

a man in DEISEL PJs shouting over white noise. wonderful.
The truth of a proposition has nothing to do with its credibility. And vice versa.

A different take on this:

Dude looks like he's having fun doing what he loves. More power to him.

Silly? Yes. But perhaps unexpectedly inspiring...

I think he'd be fun to watch as part of a band, doing originals. Not as lead singer, but drummer and maybe backing vocals. If he cut his hair and dressed in a way that fit his age, I don't think he'd seem quite so goofy. On the other hand, maybe he should be totally over-the-top, in a band that did the same. They could open for Anvil. You gotta admit, he's entertaining.

That is the most awesome thing I've seen on youtube in a while. Here is a guy who would spend 40 minutes of a 45 minute set setting up his drums.

That dude comes from a time when you had to know how to play, what a dinosaur!
He'll never make it these days.
Harumph!

Wow, the REM tune was so unexpected. And so...different than the original.
