I would hazard to guess that Mr. Thompson would appreciate that review.

"Crazy"... then "softer"... Sounds like Los Angeles. Love that song!

Yes! "Teenager of the Year" is a way underrated album.

There's an insane number of songs on that record too.

I think that if Black had cut out a few of the tunes that were only "pretty damn cool" instead of "amazing" it may have gone down as one of the best straight-ahead rock albums of the 90s.

Who knows? Maybe in some accounts it still will.

There are so many good songs on that record. I mean, "Abstract Plain"? C'mon: Phantasmal.

I've been neglecting the Frank Black/Pixies end of my record collecting. If I ever get money, I'll have to remedy that.

Oh, BTW, I did contact Joey. He said he couldn't remember if it was his guitar, or no. I'm pretty sure it's the one, though.

I've only ever seen Frank with Joey on guitar. Which should give you some idea how often I crawl out from under my rock.

I really need to track down some of these albums.

Been setting recording aside for awhile, and the spending on that sport saved I've put into a couple nice stereo pieces and speakers.
All used, all killer!
Anyway, this relates to Frank in that I've been cuing up some of the material I hadn't spent much time with for whatever reason, and digging it! The guy is just spilling sophistication and grace on Honeycomb, and if your in the mindset to receive, well it's quite powerful. Also picked up a couple more Frankobilia pieces.
(one even has the TapeOp logo..)

Gotta lots of love for the Rat-shack speakers, here.

Honeycomb is great, and Fast Man Raider Man a continuation thereof!
