THE FALL

Post by jkelly222 » Wed Jun 08, 2011 9:33 am

I passionately enjoy far to many bands/groups/musicians/song writers to call anyone a favorite BUT The Fall are WAY up on the list. I love listening to Fall records during super long drives and post smoking a bunch of pot.

Does anyone else share a fond love for this band and their 28 some odd albums?

I am still catching up on their more recent stuff.

Lets blab!

Man alive, I love the fall. Just recently listened to Kurious Oranj for the first time in a while, and it kicked my ass! Wonderful and Frightening World is one of my favorite records. Such great energy in all their stuff!

I've had "This nations's saving Grace" for a few years now. Great stuff. "Bombast" cracks me up.

What else of their canon would recommend?

"Slates" is my fav. Just revelatory when I first heard it, but anything from the early ones.

Oh man, "Grotesque" and "Frenz Experiment" are my favorite two albums I've heard thus far.

This is "English Scheme" one of my favorite tracks from the album "Grotesque". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IW932IKyc50

This is a cover of the Kinks "Victoria" from the album "Frenz Experiment". Super cool cover! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i4VdcMXVO_g

There would be no Pavement if it wasn't for the Fall.

agrpap, you're from Dallas? I'm originally from Denton/all over DFW.

I haven't listened to them in a while but they are one of my faves. So many great tracks and I feel like I hear their influence in a lot of bands.
