Datathrash Recordings - A label for lofi electronics

Post by egr » Thu Dec 22, 2011 8:32 am

This is a link to the releases page of my net/physical record label. We focus on "lofi electronics" which generally means music from the chip scene. I've done post production on a few of these but most come in as finished pieces.

Some personal favorite tracks to check out:

Our first 7" vinyl release is in production now. Two hardcore punk tracks from Brooklyn's "Graffiti Monsters" :D

I won't make a habit of bumping this thread but I just released some good ol' fashioned amigacore just like they used to make in the early 90's. This is exactly the type of thing I'm trying to promote. This artist is from Australia which is a hotbed of electronic hardcore at the moment.

One more bump for something that is more relevant to Tape Op:

Check it out here: http://graffitimonsters.bandcamp.com/album/fox-grapes

This is my first foray into vinyl production and it turned out pretty awesome!

We're trying out these lathe cut 5" records. They certainly look cool and for small runs are cheap enough to be considered a "bonus item" or collectors piece.

Hey egr,

Who made the 5-inchers for you? Reasonable price and quality?

These were made by http://www.corporaterecords.biz/ , pricing etc is all on there.

Kinda embarrassed to say I don't have my copy yet.
They were shipped straight to the artist in Scotland so he could handle shipping and take them on the road.

When I get mine I'll see about posting a .wav of one of the tracks for comparison.

It was a "Rarer than hen's teeth edition" of 15 copies sold at cost. lol Once we get some feedback we'll decide if we want to try and do larger runs.
