Beauty Pill

Yep... TapeOp insider... DC heavy hitter....People just as bored as you are....

Gotta say i've been pretty obsessed with the soundstage of all three previous releases. Chad, any chance you have the time and were-with-all to talk about your past work with this band, new unreleased works not withstanding?

cheers, kevin

Hey, a few people have flagged me to this very nice post. This needs to be said first: I very much appreciate your interest and also the encouraging words. Like any artist, I want people to engage with the work, so it's very nice when you feel that happen. There are an array of reasons you make music, but certainly chief among them is to communicate with other people.

This is kind of crazy week with looming deadlines for various projects and I'm afraid any dialogue with me would be a stressed dialogue and probably no fun for either of us. But I'm happy to talk. I'm not reclusive --- I don't know how I got that rep --- I like conversation. Can we say that I'll come back to this thread early next week, probably Tuesday?

Happy to answer questions or just, y'know, talk about whatever.

Again, I very much appreciate the passion/interest.

Hi Chad,
Work on and Godspeed.
See you when you get the time.
I am curious as to workflow, I.e. One song at a time or bang out basics for a bunch? Commit to single drum mic, or print many and choose for texture/ timbre later on (thinking Western Prayer)? I could certainly come up with more inquiries of work flow, but I would probably miss the juice! The schizophrenic mind torn between "it's the player" and "it's gotta be the shoes" will keep me from hitting the touchstone of enlightenment. Maybe I'm just trying to get you to write a book;)
However this turns out, thanks for engaging hear from you soon....

Ps... Does no one else listen to this band?? Seriously??!

me too!

don't have any specific questions, but i'm always interested in hearing the opinions and insight of artists i respect. that's one of the best things about this forum. definitely love Beauty Pill and Chad's earlier work with Smart Went Crazy on both songwriting and production fronts.
the tape is rolling, the ones and zeros are... um... ones and zeroing.

This has been one of my favorite bands since their first EP in 2000.

I, too, enjoy some Beauty Pill. I'm particularly looking forward to the next record...so lets not distract Chad TOO MUCH!

This is very kind and much appreciated. So incredibly encouraging. I'm so sorry for delay in response!

Bear with me a couple more days, I have not forgotten!

I actually hadn't checked out Beauty Pill till this thread and I am rather enjoying it. I am probably going to buy The Unsustainable Lifestyle after some previewing.
