New Band!

Post by MichaelAlan » Wed Aug 14, 2013 3:30 pm

So I'm in a band after about 9 years of being solo. It's called Bueller. We are just finishing up this little EP and I would love some help! Everything was recorded in a house with Logic. I use the Black Lion White Sparrow for A/D and the MOTU 896 for to interface (sparrow clocks it) Soundcloud destroyed my mp3 but what can I do to make this less annoying? I havn't gotten much mixing time on it yet but here is a quick mix. There's a lot of high end harshness. Any criticism is welcome. Would love to hear everyone's opinion! And I'll answer whatever wuestions you guys have as well.

Mike

Hi Michael,

I learned like you, to be wary of SoundCloud.
I now upload mixes that are -3dB from my original. This seems to help the SoundCloud encoder out a lot.
So, don't upload stuff that goes full scale, it will only get destroyed.
See, SoundCloud is helping make things LESS loud.

As to the mix itself... I could do a mix of this for you and tell you what I did if you like it. Then you hire me for the rest of the EP.

Cheers
