I just recently got my hands on the Folcrom summing buss, and have been playing around with it using some long-dormant mixes I have laying around. But I use Logic 9 with a Saffire 40, and the damnfangled Saffire Mix Control software has me all whacked out in terms n routing, playback, and monitoring. But I FINALLY was able to route everything out/in, but the monitor level is acting as another gain stage; I left it at 5 to allow for appropriate levels. That being said, when you turn the song(s) up, it get DIIIIRTY. Double-plus-uncool.
Basically, when I turn up the monitor level to get more volume, it feeds that much more signal into my DAW (Logic 9) and makes things explosive.
Also, I realized that the bassist's intonation(?) was for crap--when he left the low E string, his levels all but vanished! But when you hear the original ITB mix, it's nowhere near as noticeable!
And FWIW, all pres were trim-wide-open, with input gain raised to attain the appropriate output levels.
In any event, here is the Folcrom into the wacky FrankeNeve 2-channel pre:

And through 2 Fivefish sc-1s.

Yay! Folcrom success(??)

I think I finally have the routing through the Saffire/MixControl software down. it was a matter of configuring the outs so that the hardware volume didn't affect the output levels. In any event, here's (again) the work in progress. And I'm leaning toward the FiveFish SC-1s for overall tonal flavor for the mixes.
