Curious what Podcasts are of interest to individuals in the TOMB community.

I tend to listen to comedy-related Podcasts -- WTF and Topics (with Michael Ian Black and Michael Showalter) are my regulars but I would be interested in learning about anything else good.

Music related, comedy, politics... What's good?

Comedy Bang Bang
Improv4Humans
The Smartest Man in the World
Doug Loves Movies
Hollywood HandBook is ok. Kinda hit or miss
You Made it Weird
I've been getting into the Todd Glass show. Any ep with Rory Scovel.

Sorry I only listen to comedy podcasts. I'd like to get into other podcasts but I haven't been motivated.

Home Theater Geeks
(Audio and Video available)
http://twit.tv/htg
Have some big-name guests from all walks of audio and Video. Scott Wilkinson (the host) is a staff member @ AVS Forums, and is a classically trained concert musician (Tuba maybe? I forget). Lots of geeky Audio talk for a "Home Theater" themed podcast. They've had higher-ups from JBL/Harmon to crazy 5.1 mix engineers and all kinds of Video gurus as guests. Chocked full of nerdy information the TapeOp crowd could respect IMO.

PC-Perspective (PC-Per)
(Audio Only Podcast - Live Show has streaming video, also have an in-depth website with recommended PC Builds per specific budget, etc)
http://www.pcper.com/podcast
Kind of dry and nerdy, but a fantastic resource for current PC Hardware and PC industry trends. It is largely GPU/Gamer specific (I'm not a gamer, but still love the show), but contains lots of cutting-edge PC Talk (TONS of great SSD info). Can get very geeky down to CPU wafer fabrication and crap like that. The main host, Ryan Shrout, also hosts a similar show (video) on the TWiT network called "This Week in Computer Hardware" (TWiCH). They cover similar material.

This Week In Tech (TWiT)
(Audio and Video available)
http://twit.tv/show/this-week-in-tech
Leo Laporte's home-grown TWiT network's anchor show. A weekly (Sunday) roundtable tech discussion with industry heavy-hitters. If you know Leo, you probably already watch this show. Geeky, but far from "Dry".
"TWiT" also refers to Leo's entire Podcasting network - with This Week in Tech being the main show. Home Theater Geeks (mentioned above) is also part of the TWiT network.

The TapeOp crowd likely knows all about Pensado's Place. I tried to get into it many years ago and just couldn't dig it (Even though I'm a native Texan, Dave's accent was a bit too much for me at first!). I gave it another shot earlier this year, and I'm hooked. Some hate it - some love it. Good info and tricks in the "Into the Lair" segments, and lots of great guests with plenty to say that you probably haven't heard before IMO.
I also tried Ronan's Recording Show earlier this year, but kind of dropped off once I got into Pensado's Place. Pensado's Place is getting pretty corporate with high-dollar sponsors - good for production values but possibly bad for un-biased opinions on gear, etc...

No Agenda
Political/Conspiracy/Get down to the meat and potatoes Media Assassins :)
(Audio Only)
http://www.noagendashow.com/
Love 'em or hate'em - Adam Curry and John C Dvorak "Punch them in the mouth" twice a week. Self-proclaimed "Media Assassins" - they look past the bull-shit facade that is the Mainstream Media and dissect what's really going on (aka: follow the money and the power).
They get chatty and wander off topic at times, and have 2 donation segments per show (no sponsors - 100% supported by listeners - they call the supporters "Producers"). They don't sell seeds, water purifiers, or Male Enhancement drugs like some of the "other" podcast conspiracy nut-jobs ;) ).
They do bring up some "crack-pot" topics here and there, but that's part of the charm IMO :) .

They are one of the few "News Outlets" that actually take the time to read bills and legislation without parroting the Mainstream Media's fluffed-up reporting of such legislation. You'd be surprised what can be gathered from simply reading these public documents (the Media apparently DOESN'T!)

This one will take a few listens before you are likely to dive in with both feet. They continuously make fun of the "Morning Zoo" type radio format - and some people think they are being serious (lolz!). They have COMPLETELY changed the way I view mainstream media (been listening for 6-7 years now, and now mainstream news makes me puke). Don't bother if you aren't ready to have your eyes opened or beliefs possibly shattered. Heavy duty stuff!

Between those podcasts, my 10-Hour per week drive time is chocked full of geeky information and "Punch them in the Mouth" reality checks. Makes for a balanced diet!

Some very interesting choices. Thanks for replying.

Interesting there aren't more good podcasts on music.

I usually listen to "The Shakes", "Lets Make Mistakes", and "Unprofessional"

My absolute favorite podcast though is "Roderick on the Line":

If you haven't checked out Bill Burr, he's a hysterical comedian. He does a podcast every Monday morning without fail. He calls it "The Monday Morning Podcast".

KCRW here in LA is pretty excellent as far as having great non-mainstream playlists. 2 DJs in particular have struck my fancy:

Garth Trinidad: http://www.kcrw.com/music/programs/cc/#
and
Jeremy Sole: http://www.kcrw.com/music/programs/bh/#

And then my friend's radio project KSCR radio: http://www.radiokscr.com/
I'm all about a little kick and snare

Hello,
I started a podcast/blog called All Grown up. One episode of note is a conversation I had with Chris Shepard at Chicago Recording Company. We talked about how he got in the business, recording bands like Wilco, Smashing Pumpkins, Screeching Weasel etc. It doesn't get too heavy into gear being used but has some great stories and moments. I would love to have some Tape Op folks check it out! www.theallgrownup.com

"Live From The Barrage".

It's a friend's podcast. General interest. Might be some swearing.
