painful! the time is all over the place and the singing is tentative and the guitar is with, but not working with, the vocal.

Rehearse both of your instruments to a metronome, then practice recording guitar and vocal separately to a click. Take singing lessons, practice producing vocals...
I think there is a very nice song here because lyric wise your base seems solid.
