Streaming work samples and copyright issues

Post by cirrusoxide » Sun Sep 03, 2017 8:52 am

Hello all. What solutions are folks finding for streaming work samples on your studio web site? Some kind of externally hosted/embedded option would be best for me so that my site doesn't take a bandwidth hit, and Soundcloud is what comes to mind first but their copyright policy prevents you from uploading music that has been commercially released.

Thanks!
Chuck

Octave.io comes to mind, though how much bandwidth do you plan on using?

Hard to say, but I know I easily exceed my site's 5g limit if I host audio on it.
Thanks for the tip!

Almost everything I work on ends up on bandcamp these days. I just embed the player for the album on my site. It's easy and the artist has already signed off on streaming/embedding and all they when they post the record. It also means that anyone who finds the record on my site has direct access to buy it from the artist.
