yeah i'm not trying to be negative but it seems every "soul" band nowadays is doing a straight daptone rip off and they all sound the same sonically. honestly this is my biggest issue with daptone too, every record sounds the exact same and has that same vibe, just different notes, it gets to be too homogeneous for me. sadly when i started hearing black pumas i heard that same sound. i just couldn't get into it.
